Hawaii and its Gems

As you step back into time, enjoy strolling down the streets of Hilo Bay Front with its Tsunami Museum, Palace Theater, and Bay Front Beach.

Hawaii is known for the beaches! Hilo has a few unique beaches just minutes away from our BnB. Out favorite beach is Carl Smith Beach Park where you can easily step into the water via carved stone steps. Shallow water with white sandy bottom, is a perfect respite for our local Turtles!  Enjoy the scenery, the warm water and marine life! 

(Don't touch the turtles though! They are protected and come with a hefty fine if caught!)  Though we are told over and over not to touch the turtles, we find in this lagoon, the turtles will come right up to you! Just give them space and respect and enjoy the experience!

Other beaches just minutes away include Richardsons and the  Honoli'i Surfing Beach! Honoli'i is black sand and pebble beach where the waves offer our local surfers a chance to show off their skills!
